2026-2027 JRHC Tryouts and Evaluations

Tryouts and evaluations for the Junior Railers Hockey Club begin March 9 at Worcester Ice Center, and registration is now open.

Families can now register online and select the appropriate age group and program as detailed tryout schedules and team information are released for the 2026–2027 season.

In addition to Learn to Play Hockey and The JRHC House League, the Junior Railers Hockey Club offers teams that compete in the Northstar Youth Hockey League (NSYHL), Valley Hockey League (VHL), Elite-9 Hockey League (E9), New England Girls Hockey League (NEGHL), and have 14U–18U National Bound teams — providing a clear development pathway and strong competition at every level.

We look forward to welcoming both new and returning families to the Junior Railers for another great season!

Worcester Rail Dawgs Tryouts

Worcester Rail Dawgs Full Ice Mite tryouts begin March 9 at the Worcester Ice Center, with each age group participating in three on-ice evaluation sessions. Teams will be formed for the 2018 Elite, 2018 Select, 2019 Elite, and 2019 Select levels.

Rail Dawgs teams compete in the Elite 9 Hockey League and provide a strong development environment featuring two weekly on-ice practices, one off-ice conditioning session, additional skills sessions, and included goalie-specific training throughout the season. Teams will also participate in tournaments and showcase events, with all home games played at the Worcester Ice Center.

We look forward to welcoming both returning players and new families to the Rail Dawgs program.

Worcester White Hawks – Girls Hockey Program

The Junior Railers Hockey Club, home of the Worcester White Hawks, is proud of our commitment to supporting girls hockey across Central Massachusetts.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 season, we are incredibly thankful for our coaching staff at every level. Steve and Jeremy continue to do an outstanding job with our 8U and 10U players, and Amy and Fiona were tremendous additions this past season as our 19U high school coaches. We’re excited about another great season of girls hockey in 2026–2027.

Learn to Play Hockey February Registration!

February Registration is OPEN for Junior Railers Learn to Play Hockey at Worcester Ice Center!

The Best Learn to Play Hockey program on the planet!! The program director is former NHL star and Junior Railers Director of Hockey Operations Bobby Butler. His staff of experienced coaches will focus on FUNdamental skills such as power skating, shooting, stick handling, passing and team play.

Saturday - 9:20 AM to 10:20 AM

Sunday - 9:20 AM to 10:20 AM

*Some weeks may be different due to special events, holidays and ice conflicts. Sunday scrimmages begin after Thanksgiving.

Full season Learn to Play runs from September 20, 2025 to March 29, 2026 but you can Join ANYTIME!!

2026-2027 8U Cross Ice Mite Registration

The Junior Railers Mite Program follows the USA Hockey American Development Model, giving young players more confidence, more puck touches, more passes, and more opportunities to build skills in a fun, age-appropriate learning environment designed to develop a lifelong love for the game.

The program is open to boys and girls born in 2018 and younger. All registered players will be evaluated and placed on Junior Railers teams competing in the Cross-Ice NorthStar Youth Hockey League, ensuring a positive, development-focused experience for every player.

Evaluations begin March 18 & 19 at the Worcester Ice Center.

Junior Railers Mite Development Jamboree – DCU Center

The Junior Railers Mite Development teams will hold their annual Mite Jamboree at the DCU Center on Saturday, February 28 with an exciting 3-on-3 format at the home of the Worcester Railers.

Our eight Junior Railers Mite Development teams will compete in a fast-paced round-robin format, followed by playoff rounds to crown a champion.

After the Jamboree, players and families can stay and enjoy a night of professional hockey as the Worcester Railers take on the Maine Mariners at 6:05 PM, making it a full day of hockey at the DCU Center.

2026-2027 JRHC Coaching Application

All potential Coaches and Assistant Coaches for the 2026-2027 season are required to complete this application. The Junior Railers welcomes all coaches to apply including those that may be new to the organization for the coming year.

The Junior Railers Hockey Club offers all levels of hockey: Learn to Play Hockey, U8 (Cross-Ice Mite Hockey), House League, VHL Travel and AAA Hockey.

Philip Coleman Scholarship Fund

The Philip Coleman Scholarship Fund was established in 2021 to provide financial assistance to Junior Railers families who can't afford the full yearly fee.
